It is now possible to hide IP addresses during WhatsApp calls
WhatsApp has added a new feature that will make users’ privacy more secure.
It should be noted that messages are already protected by end-to-end encryption in WhatsApp.
Now the Meta-owned messaging app is improving the security of calls.
Meta announced that Android and iOS users will be able to hide IP address during calls on WhatsApp.
Enabling this feature will make it very difficult for others to know your location.
Although using this feature will make calls more secure, call quality will be affected to some extent.
Along with this, WhatsApp has also introduced a feature to mute calls from unknown numbers.
According to the company, with this feature, users will be able to provide more protection to their data from cyber attacks.
How to use IP address hiding feature?
This feature is optional i.e. the user has to enable it himself.
To use this feature, open WhatsApp and go to Settings.
Select the Advanced option in the Privacy section of Settings.
There, click on the Protect IP address in calls option and enable it.
As mentioned above, using this feature may affect call quality to some extent.

میٹا کی جانب سے اعلان کیا گیا کہ اینڈرائیڈ اور آئی او ایس صارفین واٹس ایپ پر کالز کے دوران آئی پی ایڈریس کو چھپا سکیں گے۔
اس فیچر کو فعال کرنے پر دیگر افراد کے لیے آپ کی لوکیشن کے بارے میں جاننا بہت مشکل ہو جائے گا۔
اگرچہ اس فیچر کو استعمال کرنے سے کالز کو زیادہ تحفظ مل سکے گا مگر کال کوالٹی کسی حد تک متاثر ہوگی۔
اس کے ساتھ ساتھ واٹس ایپ میں نامعلوم نمبروں سے آنے والی کالز کو میوٹ کرنے کا فیچر بھی متعارف کرایا گیا ہے۔
کمپنی کے مطابق اس فیچر سے صارفین اپنے ڈیٹا کو سائبر حملوں سے زیادہ تحفظ فراہم کر سکیں گے۔
آئی پی ایڈریس کو چھپانے والا فیچر کیسے استعمال کریں؟
یہ فیچر آپشنل ہے یعنی صارف کو خود اسے فعال کرنا ہوگا۔
اس فیچر کو استعمال کرنے کے لیے واٹس ایپ کھول کر سیٹنگز میں جائیں۔
سیٹنگز میں پرائیویسی کے سیکشن میں ایڈوانسڈ آپشن کو سلیکٹ کریں۔
وہاں پروٹیکٹ آئی پی ایڈریس ان کالز کے آپشن پر کلک کرکے اسے فعال کر دیں۔
جیسا اوپر درج کیا جاچکا ہے کہ اس فیچر کے استعمال سے کال کا معیار کسی حد تک متاثر ہوسکتا ہے۔
